I think I can dance....

It is a well known fact, albeit a recent realisation to have hit me that dance is a form of "expression".
A few months back, people's dexterity on the dance floor amused me :-) And I stood in the corner watching and wondered is this something I can ever do ??
But performing for the Winter funk show by Shiamak Sir after 3 months of dance training was a true lifetime experience !
PPl from the age group of 6 to 60 performed, including some performances by "special children" which were gracefully executed.. The "Spirit" of the show was overwhelming..
I must admire Shiamak Sir's initiative of giving ppl the joy of dance..To me, it meant fun , learning and de-stressing.
Trainers Saurabh and Frian made dance a fun experience and gave "classes" a whole new meaning ..:-)
All I can say is, I have now put on my dancing shoes.. so turn on the music and I will "hit the dance floor". :-)

Creating your destiny

Was revisiting my ambitions, many years old... Came across this in my dairy..
An amateur piece of work(understated)..but clearly reflects that I was more "inspired" than now to make it big :-) Wish I could get that zing back in my life now...!!
Read on for entertainment...an extract from my diary of '99... :-)

In Stories untold, we sometimes find
That might is not always right
And not always do the fittest survive!

Such is the tale of a tiny boat,
Who was made to believe she could'nt sail too far,
If she tried to venture, she'd be left with a scar..

But her passion unfulfilled was to sail the vast Sea,
Embarked on a journey and to the stormy weather she paid no Heed.

Sea spread across, calm and cold
And then the Storm arose and to her told,
"You are too meek to have dared to face Me,
Now you shall pay the price,
Now you shall See!"

Sea-waves swirled and engulfed her too,
But she kept saying " I will make it through"!
She did not feel the agony, She did not feel the Pain,
In the End, storm gave way, in Vain

"I have seen might",he said," I have seen Fame,
They have all shattered in my path, their fear is to Blame,
But you have won.. where others Fail,
You believed in yourself, Now you shall Sail"

The Storm died...Sun shined through..
She now sailed in the sea deep blue,
At this triumph, she exclaimed in Ecstasy,
"I have made my mark, I have made my Destiny!"

What Mumbai means to me..

Sometimes I wonder what keeps me drawn to this city.. is it because I was born here? the Friends I have grown up with ? the lanes and by lanes with fond memories.... Or is it just the "air" intoxicated with so many expressions - ambition, passion, living on the edge, desire..All of which translates into the prolific energy exuded by this city.. Often misconstrued as the most populated city..well its not just that..The underlined feature of Mumbai is that "its a city of opportunities". If you are here, it can change the course of your life...Are you here with some plans ?? Well , they might fail..but what's in store will be even better..

Its a city where we "live" by the day and "Live it up" at night ..The city that never sleeps and not just that... it also awakens you..If you are here , then you have experienced everything ..it will stir every emotion in you--from being cranky during the morning travel, to being patient at the ticket counter , losing temper at the traffic signals or just that divine sip of masala chai and vada pav with colleagues for a much needed break at work.. :-) , you hav to be a gymnast to board the train and be a navigator during rains...!! But what completes Mumbai is the sea view by the night.. when you face the serenity of sea waves rushing towards you and watch the world rush past behind you...what an amalgamation! !

Did you like the sound of it ??? then do drop by...but life here comes with a Caution :"Keep up the pace !" Ye hai Mumbai meri Jaan ....:-)
